About Therapy
I believe we are all created for connection in relationship, and that all relationships have the potential to bring great joy and great struggle. I believe that through our therapeutic relationship, by addressing the concerns that bring you to therapy, a process occurs that produces healing, transformation, and growth.
Through our interactions, you may experience moments where you feel like past relational dynamics are getting repeated. This is both normal and useful in the therapeutic process. When this happens, we will attempt to explore and engage these moments with transparency and curiosity, paying attention to what happened and to what is happening. This often leads to the source of distressing relational and thought patterns, helps you to narrate what was or was not true, and empowers you to decide how you want to move forward in the future.
My approach to counseling is rooted in trauma-informed, relational psychotherapy, focusing on key attachment relationships, and exploring the moments, social and cultural constructs, and ideologies that have shaped you.
Having traveled a long road to healing myself, I deeply value the therapeutic encounter. I consider it an honor to work with others on their journey of becoming more fully and freely themselves. I engage clients with integrity and curiosity, and listen in a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and confidential manner.
